Opening Hours and Tours
Visit Christ Church Spitalfields and you will understand why Giles Worsley wrote in Daily Telegraph: “The restoration of Christ Church... is a triumph. It may have taken more than a quarter of a century to complete and needed the largest grant ever given by the Heritage Lottery Fund to a church... but the result is worth every penny. Only now can we fully understand the masterpiece of the man who has a good claim to be Britain's greatest architect, Nicholas Hawksmoor... For those used to the thin, pallid post-war restorations of bomb-damaged City churches, this meticulously accurate restoration is a revelation.”
If you visit us on a Tuesday or a Sunday, we hope to offer you a warm welcome as you explore this fascinating building. We are open to the public on Sundays (1pm-4pm) and Tuesdays (11am-4pm). The church is also open Monday to Friday between 11am-4pm if it is not being used as a venue. If you are travelling a long distance, please check in advance by calling (020) 7377 6793.
We offer groups guided tours by arrangement. Tours last between 35 and 50 minutes, and can be tailored, depending on your interest. The standard charge for a guided tour is £5 per head, £2.50 concessions. If you would like to bring your own guide, we invite a donation of £10 for the whole group, towards running costs of the church.
To book a tour or to find out more details, send us an email. Please notify us at least one week in advance if you would like to book a tour.
